Introduction to the Quality Assurance Unit

The Quality Assurance Unit is a body composed of the head of the unit and members representing all faculties within the institution. The unit centrally oversees the implementation of the quality assurance system at the university and reports directly to the Rector. A Quality Assurance Unit is established in each faculty or institute, chaired by a member of the central Quality Assurance Unit.

Tasks of the Quality Assurance Unit

The tasks of the Quality Assurance Unit are as follows:

Implementing the standards of the National Quality Assurance Reference Framework.
Proposing and monitoring quality improvement projects.
Introducing and strengthening best practices.
Conducting information and awareness activities on quality, including publications from the University Quality Assurance Unit (QAU).
Ensuring the training of unit members.
Working on training administrative staff and teachers and improving performance.
Improving students’ training performance and promoting scientific research.

Fields of the Quality Assurance Unit

Training

Comprehensive student support through guidance and facilitation of their integration into the university environment, monitoring students’ academic and knowledge achievement, evaluating and reviewing teaching materials, doctoral training aimed at ensuring and improving the training of trainers and researchers, and training newly recruited faculty members.

Scientific Research

Promoting research dynamics and motivating academic researchers, facilitating access to essential documentation sources for research, monitoring methodological, scientific, and technological developments through conferences and seminars, developing a training policy for research and through research, implementing an information policy and disseminating its scientific output, ensuring the development of international partnerships in the field of scientific research, and ensuring internal coherence and integration of research activities.

Governance

Archiving and disseminating administrative, pedagogical, and scientific information; organizing and enhancing communication with internal and external stakeholders; ensuring internal consultation in training, research, administrative management, and governance; organizing and coordinating the components and services within the various leadership and administrative bodies, with clearly defined functions, responsibilities, powers, and duties.

University life

Welcoming and supporting students and staff, and ensuring professional ethics and conduct.

Basic infrastructure

Providing dedicated administrative structures (for administrative and pedagogical activities, and library resource centers), and providing laboratories and research workshops to host practical work and research activities.

Relations with the socio-economic environment

Ensuring the training of graduates that meet the needs of the economy, contributing to the creation and development of business incubators, and preparing, disseminating, and enhancing scientific and technical information

International cooperation

Policy of openness to the world, exchange of information and mutual use of resources, development of a strategy for research and training within an international framework, and implementation of a communication policy enabling the institution to enhance its international visibility.
